Indians have become the largest group of tourists to Thailand, with more than 100,000 arrivals so far this year, with potentially up to 600,000 by year-end, a senior Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) official said.
From next Wednesday (June 1), unvaccinated or partially vaccinated foreign travellers will no longer need to quarantine on arrival in Thailand, Foreign Ministry spokesman Tanee Sangrat said on Thursday.

Tourism in Phuket and Surat Thani's Samui Island is now bustling after Thailand reopened the country to foreign travellers on May 1, Government Spokesman Thanakorn Wangboonkongchana said on Monday.
The last group of some 100 travellers left Similan Islands on Sunday before the Andaman archipelago is closed for five months for the monsoon season.
