Hollywood, United States - Hollywood's biggest stars strutted their stuff on the Oscars red carpet Sunday, and a few trends emerged: old school glamour, metallic gowns, lots of pink, trousers on the women... and one stunning gown on a man.

Tom Cruise on Thursday attended the red carpet premiere of the latest instalment in the Mission: Impossible film series in Paris, the city where which much of the film was shot.

Usually at the Golden Globes, the red carpet is awash in colour. Not this year.
