THE THREE-MONTH Investor Confidence Index in May dropped 2.83 per cent on uncertainties of Thailand’s political developments after the election, pressuring foreign investors to be net sellers in only the Thai bourse among its regional peers in the first four months of this year, according to the Federation of Thai Capital Market Organisations (Fetco).

The Bangkok Art Biennale 2018, the first to be held in the Thai capital, kicked off on Thursday at several venues across the city, among them The EmQuartier shopping complex on Sukhumvit Road. Quartier Parc and Quartier Avenue are hosting works by Choi Jeong Hwa, a contemporary artist and designer from the Republic of Korea.

The Bangkok meeting on climate change has floundered on the rock of discord over the formulations and funding adopted at the Paris conference of December 2015. The international summit, which concluded in the Thai capital on Sunday, has fallen short of its aim – to complete preparations towards an agreement this December for implementing the tentative Paris pact.

The Fetco Investor Confidence Index has retreated for the first time since August, falling 22.9 per cent this month to 92.65 points, Voravan Tarapoom, chairman of the Federation of Thai Capital Market Organisations, reported on Monday.
