INTERNATIONAL paediatricians say getting children to box professionally is the worst type of child abuse, and called on Thai lawmakers to pass a law banning children under the age of 12 from the boxing ring in order to prevent them from suffering long-lasting brain injuries.

THE FINANCE Ministry has managed to prevent a mass demonstration by the Rural Doctors Society (RDS) and the networks for patients with 17 chronic diseases by postponing the enforcement of its new and controversial budgetary regulation on the hiring of off-budget workers.
