"Big Cleaning Day"

The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) has launched a major cleaning and disinfecting operation in Bang Khae district after a sudden surge in Covid-19 cases linked to six markets.

Several areas in the capital are being cleaned to prevent the spread of Covid-19 as well as cut down on pollution. The areas targeted include Thung Khru, Klong Sam Wa, Phya Thai, Sai Mai to name a few.

There was another “Big Cleaning Day” in Pattaya on Wednesday (March 18), but considerably more serious than the usual litter sweeps of the beach.

Officers from the Royal Australian Navy and representatives from the local Australian Consulate joined with Rassada Municipality officials and staff for the “Big Cleaning Day” on Monday.

Nearly 6,000 “We Do Good From the Heart” volunteers, city workers and related officials on Friday participated in “Big Cleaning Day” activities to spruce up the roads and key sites on Bangkok’s Rattanakosin Island in preparation for His Majesty the King’s upcoming coronation procession.

Bangkok officials will launch a “Big Cleaning Day” in parts of the capital today as part of new Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) Governor Asawin Kwanmuang’s policy to tidy up the city.
