Of geniuses and cheats
GDH has finally revealed its first film for this year and it’s called “Chalard Games Gong” (provisionally “Bad Genius” in English), actually means cunning or cheating in a smart way.
Directed by Nattawut Poonpiriya who made his debut five years ago, with the thriller “Countdown” then went on hiatus, “Bad Genius” is about a group of young students who uses their brains to get money for taking examinations.
The plot has yet to be revealed, but the studio has said that it is nothing like the news reports of university students, some studying medicine, who were hired to take the entrance examination for the police’s non-commissioned officer school and allowed applicants who had paid a fee to see the correct answers.
Like other GDH films, the main cast is young, with actors including Chanon Santinatornkul, Teeradon “James” Supabpunpinyo, Chutimon Chuengcharoensukying and Issaya Hosuwan.
Nattawut says he has used the five years off to work on commercials and music videos and has amassed lots of experience.
The seeds of the plot were planted by producers Jira Malikool and Wanrudee Pongsitthisak.
