Special packages on offer at Money Expo
Financial institutions will be offering special loan and deposit packages at the “Money Expo” from tomorrow through Sunday at Challenger Hall, Impact Muang Thong Thani.
Bangkok Bank will offer a special interest rate for customers who apply for a loan during the event, and will also promote its financial products such as credit and debit cards.
Islamic Bank will offer lower interest rates for customers who refinance their mortgages.
Government Savings Bank (GSB) will offer an interest rate of 4 per cent per annum for a four-month savings deposit account. The bank also offers zero interest for the first six months of a mortgage, as well as a special interest rate of 3.99 per cent per annum for a 10-year period for small and medium-sized enterprises that apply for loans at the expo.
“The special interest rate of 4 per cent for a four-month savings deposit is limited to 1,000 accounts a day, but we target up to Bt2 billion worth of deposits from this campaign,” GSB president Chatchai Payuhanaveechai said.
The Thai Credit Guarantee Corporation (TCG) will also participate in the Money Expo, promoting its loan guarantees for SMEs and start-ups.
“We will advise SMEs and start-ups on how to apply for a loan guarantee and also how to write up their business plan in order to get a bank loan,” TCG president Nitid Manoonporn said.
Krungthai Bank is offering a 0.66-per-cent interest rate for the first six months of a mortgage. Siam Commercial Bank offers 0.99 per cent for the first year of a mortgage and also offers a special interest rate for a refinancing package. Kasikornbank offers a zero-interest mortgage package, and special interest rates for SMEs.
“We target new loans from this event coming in no lower than this time last year, when loan applications at Money Expo 2016 were worth Bt85 billion,” Money Expo chief Santi Viriyarungsarit said recently.
