Surat Thani park officials fire at in ambush


An unidentified group of assailants opened fire at the pickup truck of the chief of a park in Surat Thani province on Sunday night. 

No one was hurt.
Banthit Boonsook, chief of the Klong Phanom National Park in Surat Thani’s Phanom district, was driving to the park with four officials from Tai Rom Yen National Park in Nasan distirct at about 9.30pm when they were ambushed.
The driver of the pickup sped to Nasan Police Station.
Banthit went to Tai Rom Yen Park to discuss the transfer of officials from his park to that park.
Police found 14 bullet holes in the pickup and three spent SK33 rifle shells at the scene of the ambush.
