One killed,10 injured in van-truck crash


A van transporting employees of King Power’s Srivaree complex crashed into a trailer truck late Sunday night, killing the van driver and injuring all 10 employees, police said.

Police said the van crashed into the trailer when the truck was making a right turn in front of Air-Sea Freights Forwarder Co Ltd on Wat Srivaree Road in Tambon Bang Chalong in Samut Prakan’s Bang Plee district at about 10.30pm.
The van driver, Boonsong Sutthicharoen, 48, died behind the wheel.
The 10 employees were trapped inside the van. They were rushed to Chularat 1 Hospital after rescuers freed them.
The van was transporting the employees from the shop after their shifts finished.
Police said the crash spot was dark and the van driver might not have see the truck.
