Pol Lt-Col Theerawat Chansriphetch, deputy chief of Saensuk police in Chon Buri, said 50-year-old engineer Suthep Poshsomboon filed a complaint against the three teens, accusing them of assaulting him.
Theerawat said the three would be summoned for interrogation on Tuesday and police would also summon the driver of the van the three were riding in to face a charge as well.
Theerawat said the teenagers would face charges of assaulting another person and assaulting an official while he was carrying out his duty. The van driver would be charged with encouraging others to assault other people and with breaking traffic laws.
Suthep filed a complaint against the three teens after he went to meet investigators at the police station to be further interrogated over the murder charge.
Suthep faced the charge after he fired at Nawapol Pheungphai, 17, who allegedly opened the door of his car and tried to drag Suthep following a road rage incident on February 4.
