World Bank pares back global growth forecast

WASHINGTON - The World Bank on Tuesday pared back its global growth estimate for 2017, but uncertainty about the economic policies of US President-elect Donald Trump is clouding the overall outlook.

In its semi-annual Global Economic Prospects report, the World Bank lowered the estimate for global growth this year just slightly to 2.7 percent, from 2.8 percent in the June forecast.

The World Bank maintained its US forecast from June at 2.2 percent this year, following a sluggish 1.6 percent in 2016.
