Widow’s decomposed body found in Mae Hong Son house
The decomposed body of a widow was discovered on Monday in her Mae Hong Son house where she lived alone.
A friend who had lost contact with her for about a month contacted police on Monday morning after trying to visit the widow on Saturday and finding the house locked from the inside and quiet.
Police checked the house in Mae Hong Son's Pai district and found the body in a toilet room of the two-storey home.
The dead woman was identified as Ploenphit Klomchit, 55. There was no sign of fighting or ransacking in the house. A doctor determined she died about a month ago.
He friend, Apinya Marice, 46, said Ploenphit had lived alone after her western husband died five years ago.
Apinya said she called Ploenphit on May 3 but she did not answer the phone.
