Thailand will improve care of migrant and stateless children: Prayut

THAILAND AND Unicef are planning to cooperate more closely for the better care of migrant and stateless children.

The plan was discussed during a meeting yesterday between Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha and Unicef executive director Henrietta Fore.
“We are also ready to share our experiences and learn from other nations,” General Prayut said.
Fore, who paid a courtesy call on the prime minister, praised Thailand for implementing several good projects for children and youth.
Prayut, meanwhile, revealed that his government was now preparing a new draft for national children and youth development.
“Our goals are to improve the quality of life of children and youth, and ensure they have necessary learning and life skills to keep pace with the changing world,” he said.
According to him, this plan – when implemented – will also strive to prepare children and youth to participate as good citizens and contribute to social development.
