Officials manning the Sungai-Kolok customs checkpoint at the Malaysian border stopped a suspicious pickup truck and found 204 crates of palm oil worth Bt100,000.
The pickup driver, Asuwan Duareh, 21, a resident of Narathiwat's Sungai Kolok district, was arrested and charged with attempting to smuggle the palm oil into the kingdom.
The seized palm oil was given to the bio-diesel development centre under His Majesty the late King's initiative in Narathiwat's Muang district for making bio-diesel.
