A local resident, Ura Chanachai, 30, went to the 1,400-rai reservoir in Moo 4 village in Tambon Huay Yai with friends to collect oysters and spotted the body. They alerted police at 10pm.
The man appeared to be around 30 to 40 years old and sported a dragon tattoo on his back.
A doctor determined he had died some two days previously. Two lotuses were clenched in his right hand.
Police believe he went to collect the lotuses on Visakha Pujda Day and drowned.
