Thai man charged with trying to bring heroin in from Laos
A Pathum Thani man was arrested crossing the Lao border at Nong Khai on Friday morning after 1.9 kilograms of heroin was allegedly found in his travelling bag.
Chalermwut Saengsai, 53, was arrested at the Thai-Lao Friendship Bridge in Muang Nong Khai at 8am.
He claimed he didn’t know there were drugs hidden in the bag, which he said a woman in Bangkok he knew only as “Noi” had paid him to take there from a Vientiane hotel.
