District in Chiang Rai experiences mild tremors


A 3.6-magnitude earthquake shook the Mae Saruay district of Chiang Rai province early Saturday, the Seismological Bureau of the Thai Meteorological Department reported.

The quake was experienced for just five seconds. Locals said they could feel the tremor. No damage was reported.
The bureau said the quake happened at 4.38am at a depth of 11 kilometres in Tambon Mae Saruay of Mae Saruay.
