Thais are going ga-ga over a new durian breed called Lai Hua Dong that is not widely available in the kingdom.
There are only four of these durian trees available in Uttaradit, Thailand which produces some 500 durians.
According to the orchard’s owner, this particular breed has existed for 100 years.
Each durian weighs approximately one to two kilogrammes.
The fruit is small but meaty, and lacks a pungent smell.
