Up, up and away

AirAsia ups its connections between Bangkok and Hong Kong to three daily flights operating from April 30.



The few FD 2504 will depart from Don Mueang Airport at 3.40pm and arrive at Hong Kong at 7.25pm local time. The return flight takes off at 7.55pm and lands at Bangkok at 9.45pm. Two other daily flights depart for Hong Kong at 6.45am and 4.30pm respectively. Visit www.AirAsia.com.

Running for a cause

Members of the Hilton Pattaya led by the hotel's general manager, Philippe Kronberg and Harald Feurstein, general manager of Conrad Bangkok recently participated in "The 2013 North Face 100 Thailand", the second edition of country's Ultimate Trail Running Challenge. The route started and finished at Villa Paradis hotel, passed fruit plantations and a Thai temple set in the natural surroundings of Khao Yai. In line with the concept "Take only memories, Leave only footprints", a percentage of the registration fees for the marathon was donated to the Thai Elephants Research and Conservation Fund.

High kicks, low punches

Ayutthaya province gets some added punch from March 17 to 21, as the central province hosts the Thai Martial Arts Festival. This annual festival always draws thousands of foreigners and Thais for Thai boxing events, varying from Wai Kru Ceremony to a demonstration of ancient art of Thai boxing. Magic tattoo, ancient weapons and bladesmith exhibitions will add to the fun. Check them out at Ayutthaya Stadium.

The best images will be used for the wrap of Bangkok Airways' new aircraft. Participants also stand a chance to win air tickets.
