Thai Airways welcomes new bird
Thai Airways International (THAI) threw a "Pre-launch introduction to THAI's First A380-800 Aircraft" party last week at its headquarters on Vibhavadi Road.
The evening provided guests with a glimpse of the airline's first Airbus A380-800, which enters the fleet in October. Equipped with sophisticated in-flight entertainment and Internet connectivity, the new Airbus A380-800 will be in service from October 6 on Bangkok-Hong Kong and Bangkok-Singapore routes. The double-decker will operate on European routes once the second A380 is delivered.
Sugar and spice and all things nice
The 13th annual World Gourmet Festival is heating up, with the aromas of spices and sauces delighting visitors to the Four Seasons Hotel in Bangkok. Shiqin Chen, Frédéric Vardon and Galvin Lim are among many the chefs in Bangkok this week, and they'll be spicing up the city's gastronomic scene until Sunday. Emirates, one of the world's fastest growing airlines, has named Jabr Al-Azeeby as the new head of Emirates' operations in Thailand and Indochina. Al-Azeeby brings to Thailand extensive experience in the aviation industry since beginning his career as area manager in Uganda with Emirates from 2008 to 2011. Prior to being appointed as area manager for Thailand and Indochina, Al-Azeeby was serving Emirates as manager for Cyprus.
