Chaiyaphum in Thailand's northeast offers a vista of natural attractions.

One of the highlights is the pinkish-purple Siam tulip, locally known as dok krachiao, which bursts into bloom during the early part of the rainy season from June to August. Tucked away in Pa Hin Ngam National Park, Thep Sathit district, the field of wild flowers is ideal for trail walking and weekend camping. The park also features 10 square kilometres of impressive natural sandstone sculptures in many curious shapes.
