A very popular menu item in restaurants throughout Bangkok, especially during the summer months, when the mercury rises.
Usually translated into English as “beef salad”, this fiery dish bears little resemblance to any salad served outside of Thailand. The dish comprises bite-size pieces of cooked beef, mixed up with chopped onions, shallots, mint, dried chili, fish sauce and lime juice.
