Fortinet has recently organized the 4th annual road show event "Security 361 Degree", a leading Information Security symposium that went across 7 cities in Malaysia, Singapore, Philippines, Indonesia, Vietnam, Hong Kong and Thailand.

The event received cooperation from technology partners and other security vendors, including iXia, Firemon and Frost & Sullivan Asia Pacific,.
Peerapong Jongvibool, Country Manager of Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Vietnam and Thailand of Fortinet International Inc, said during the symposium that security threats against electronics banking and online shopping are increasing.
“From the collaboration at Security 361 Degree, Fortinet finds that today’s security can be used and a part of into the business. Electronics banking services and the online shopping sites such as Amazon cannot be interrupted from threats. If that happens, it definitely affects the business. Not only the service reliability is vital to small to large businesses, the network performance and high speed transaction are also important,” Peeraspong said.
“Fortinet has developed the security solution from software-based approach. But we foresee the need to improve the performance, we migrate to the hardware-based platform. Benefiting from the heritage Forti-ASIC software that was developed at the first place, it works on security assignments efficiently and supports the future security feature seamlessly.”
He said Fortinet found that more and more organisations have information-sharing on value chain starting from suppliers right through to the business partners and customers, which are exposed to cyber attacks at entry points.
“The threats can also rise inside the network itself. Therefore, what we find out this year is the security solution sales approach becomes more consultative. We are not selling individual appliance any more. The customers need the security assessment before solution deployment. We then learn that the ecosystem in the security industry is important because one partner will focus and do the best on one perspective such as iXia will perform the assessment test and Fireman on security policy deployment,” Peerapol added
He said Fortinet will take part in providing the next-generation security solutions and a consistent security strategy throughout such organisation's entire value chain to minimise those cyber attack entry points.
“We will design the security solution that meet your customers’ expectations, business value proposition, the company’s level of corporate compliance, and protection solution should be visible and has intelligent security management process,” he added.
