Thai trio to face England keeper Joe Hart
Big Cola has unveiled the three Thais who will represent the country in "Win A Penalty Shootout With Joe Hart" and bid for the honour of receiving the trophy in front of thousands of fans at the Manchester derby match at City's Etihad stadium next month.
To make that dream come true, the contestants not only have to outwit England and City keeper Hart - regarded as one of the best in the world - but must also overcome their counterparts from Indonesia and Vietnam.
Hernan Cordova, managing director of Big Cola maker AJE Thai, hopes the project will help inspire for Thai fans.
"It's a great opportunity for Thai consumers to think big and experience the atmosphere of English professional football. They will go head to head with Hart.
"The one with the highest score will win the Big Cola Salvo Trophy, which will be awarded in front of 60,000 fans at the Etihad Stadium during the Manchester derby on December 9. We strongly believe that this campaign will be inspiring for Thai football fans."
Sorin Voinea, AJE Group's Asia-Pacific marketing chief, said the three would train with national goalkeeper Sinthaweechai Hatthairattanakook before they come up face to face with the England No 1.
"We will make sure that the three representatives are well trained in order to get the best chance of scoring against Hart. We have arranged an exclusive training session with Jakraphan Panpi, the coach of Chonburi FC.
"They'll train with Sinthaweechai Hatthairattanakool and Terdsak Jaiman, two stars of Thai football, and learn the tips on how to take penalties like the pros," said Voinea.
