Thai hotshots to take aim at Man City keeper
Beating one of your friends with a penalty kick too easy?
Well, how about trying to put a spot kick past one of the world's best keepers? Big Cola's "Win a Penalty Shoot-Out with Joe Hart" competition invites you to step up and take the challenge.
Big Cola came up with the idea after clinching an endorsement deal with Manchester City and England goalkeeper Joe Hart.
The event will offer fans a unique opportunity to outwit Hart, whose saves helped Manchester City win the Premier League title last season. The winner of the event will receive the trophy in the middle of the pitch at the Etihad Stadium during the half-time interval of the derby between hosts City and Manchester United in December.
"You just need to be sure of what you do before you do it… try your best and give it a go! Hope to see you guys in December."
The event deepens Big Cola's involvement in English football following sponsorship deals with the England soccer team and the FA Cup.
"Our clients are interested in sports. Football in general and English football in particular is amazingly popular in Southeast Asia," said Aje Group's head of marketing for Asia-Pacific Sorin Voinea. "This event will offer a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for eight lucky Big Cola and English football fans from Thailand, Vietnam and Indonesia.
"They will go to England to take penalty kicks against Joe Hart and fight for the right to carry home the ultimate prize," said Voinea.
Qualifying rounds are this Saturday and October 31 to find 20 hotshots for a penalty kick contest against Thailand keeper Sinthaweechai Hathairattanakool on November 4. The best three shooters will represent Thailand in Manchester in December.
