Armstrong to lose seven Tour de France tiles

Washington - Lance Armstrong said he would no longer contestdoping charges filed by the US Anti-Doping Agency (USADA), puttinghim at risk of losing his record seven Tour de France titles.

Armstrong on Thursday called the process against him unfair andweighted against him and said he would instead devote himself to hisfamily and cancer foundation.

"The toll this has taken on my family and my work for ourfoundation and on me leads me to where I am today - finished withthis nonsense," the cancer survivor said.

"If I thought for one moment that by participating in USADA’sprocess, I could confront these allegations in a fair setting andonce and for all put these charges to rest, I would jump at thechance," he said. "But I refuse to participate in a process that isso one-sided and unfair." Doping charges have dogged the 40-year-old Texan throughout hiscycling career but he has never tested positive for bannedsubstance
