      On November 8, the nation rejoiced as His Majesty the King Bhumibol Adulyadej left hospital to joy and cheers from his subjects.
    The King was admitted to Siriraj Hospital on October 13 with weakness on his right side and pain under his right ribcage. After his admission, more than a million people headed to the hospital to sign well-wishing messages for the revered monarch. Many camped out at the hospital to show moral support for the King.
    The King later went back to the hospital to stay close to his elder sister HRH Princess Galyani Vadhana, who has been receiving treatment there for abdominal cancer for many months.
    On November 24, His Majesty performed his first function at Chitralada Palace since his recovery from illness, welcoming members of an international association of administrative courts.
