Call for any information

Airports of Thailand has a call centre providing information about Suvarnabhumi Airport.
On weekdays, call (02) 132 1888 for information about transport and services at the new airport.

From Friday, when some domestic and international flights will begin operating from the airport, the call centre will be open round the clock for flight information for all airlines.
Thai Airways will start with flights to Chiang Mai, Phitsanulok and Ubon Ratchathani, while Jetstar Airlines will offer three flights to Singapore daily.

Cash cards

King Power and SCB Bank will launch a Cash Card that international passengers can use to pay for shopping and services at Suvarnabhumi Airport from September 28.

There are two card editions – a general edition with a value of Bt3,000 and the limited edition with a value of Bt50,000.

The 10,000 limited-edition cards are designed with mythological characters from the story Churning of the Ocean of Milk – which is also the theme of the airport’s interior design.

The cards will be sold at a 10-per-cent discount for a promotional period. They can be redeemed for cash before departure or maintained for subsequent visits.

The cards have a three-year validity.

Go this way

More than 10,000 direction signs will be put up on roads leading towards Suvarnabhumi Airport to ensure convenient access to the new airport, Transport Minister Pongsak Ruktapongpisal said yesterday.

The Transport Ministry has ordered the agencies responsible to install the signs on both permanent and temporary bases on main and secondary roads throughout Bangkok, he said.

“They will be placing the signs in the next few days. Now people can see signs giving directions to the airport from everywhere,” Pongsak said.

The minister added that more temporary signs would be put up inside the new airport’s flight terminals to help passengers to find their way about once it opens on September 28.
