“If I get elected, I will help people more than I can now,” says Yaowalak Toanan of her motivation for entering politics.

“I decided to run in the election with the Democrats because I like the party’s policies and like working systematically and I plan to use the policies to solve problems and promise I won’t make the public’s interest second to personal interest” she said.

“I am honoured to have received a chance from the Democrat Party, so I will take this chance, as a woman from Prachin Buri, to carry out the policies bring the highest happiness to people in the province.”

She was a teacher for 30 years. It’s a long time and she used to visit her students living under difficult circumstances. She saw their troubles and extended a helping hand to them. Now she thinks she wants to help her students more than by just visiting and giving a little help and decided to contest the election.

She became interested in politics when she was young because her father talked about good politics and good politicians helping people to be better off.

“Money is nothing in comparison to the quality of life that provides true happiness,” she recalls of her parent’s teachings.

She says about her policies that she will uphold the three pillars of the country – the nation, the religion and the monarchy – and improve the quality of life because politicians think about infrastructure more than the quality of life.
