If you cannot vote in a general election, you have to submit valid reasons to the district chief or chief administrator of the municipality between seven days before and seven days after the election day – from December 1630 for the December 23 election.

You can get the form to state your reasons from the district chief or chief administrator of the municipality. Fill in and then return the form in person or by mail.

If not you will lose following rights:

-the right to challenge the election of an MP or senator

-the right to stand for election to the Lower House, Senate, local councils and local administrative organisations

-the right to stand for the post of kamnan or village chief.

You will have to vote in the next election, either national or local, before you can regain these rights.
