Bangkok, March 29 -- Vichien Emprasertsuk, senior vice president of Toyota Motor Thailand Co. Ltd., presided over the opening of the Toyota booth at the 28th Bangkok International Motor Show at the Bangkok International Trade and Exhibition Center here today.

Among the highlights at the Toyota booth this year are the Hybrid X concept, the hybrid vehicle of the future, as well as two special versions of the highly popular sub-compact Vios namely the S-Limited and G-Limited.
With a booth area of as much as 1,500 square meters, Toyota, Thailand’s number one auto company, has one of the biggest show areas in the annual event and this year the Toyota both carries the theme of “Inspired Innovation for Smart Living”, which reflects the advancements in the automotive world as well as Toyota’s leadership in the Thai automobile market that roots from the company’s innovative technology, production quality and environmental friendliness.

Hybrid X
The Hybrid X is Toyota’s answer to the future of hybrid technology featuring an interactive driving style between car and driver through vision, scent, sound and touch.
Coming with cutting-edge design and careful selection of materials with great attention to details, the Hybrid X combines the “J-factor” design with “Vibrant Clarity” design concept.

Exceptional exterior design with superb aerodynamics
When viewed from above, the “X “design is clearly highlighted on the vehicle, while the “U” design dramatically improves visibility, especially for the rear passengers. The LED headlights with graphic beam system also inform other motorist and pedestrians whether while braking or accelerating. There is also rear LED indicator lights.

The alloy wheels have been designed to be flat in order to improve aerodynamics and are mated to Michelin Pneumatic 225/40R20 tires.

Interactive interior design

Vision With the LED “Color Lighting” system that changes according to the driving situation and the artistic picture printed on the door panel to brighten up the interior.
Scent With the in-car perfume reflective of the high taste.
Sound With songs that are composed in 14 different ways to create a unique atmosphere under the theme of “The Sound of Silence”.
Touch With various surfaces that are cold, warm and gentle from the cabin floor, dashboard and door panels while the surfaces of painted surfaces and aluminium offer than polished feel. The lighting in the cabin changes according to the music being played, while the car perfume kicks in to create a brilliant atmosphere – the driver is able to select the desired atmosphere, whether active or relaxed, via controls on the dashboard.

Advanced interior equipment
The seats are produced with a special process by injecting foam into the seat frame resulting in a super slim cushion which is comfortable at the same time. There is also armrests designed ergonomically and is part of the door panel. The rear seats can be rotated by 12 degrees, allowing rear passengers to conduct a private conversation. The U-shaped steering wheel features a ball-like device that serves as a navigator while the center console has been designed as a sphere and houses an LCD screen and climate control buttons.

Getting to know the HSD (Hybrid Synergy Drive) with the HSD Simulator
Visitors to the Toyota booth also get to experience the HSD (Hybrid Synergy Drive) system which is featured in the Prius hybrid car. A simulation station is offered to visitors to explain how the system works as well as the benefits the system has to offer.

Excellent Fuel Economy Readings from the simulator while playing as well as afterwards will help visitors understand fuel economy factors, and other benefits offered by the system.
Low emission levels The emission level is shown through computer graphics and helps visitors understand how to create a cleaner environment.
Acceleration Displays the smooth acceleration via computer graphics as well as visual of overtaking another vehicle.
Silence Relates to noise-free cabin from using the EV mode which is the main highlight of the HSD system.
