Today's Review: Mercedes-Benz to launch a new fleet of luxury cars
at Bangkok International Motor Show 2007

DaimlerChrysler (Thailand) Limited will unveil a range of new passenger cars and commercial vehicles at this year’s Bangkok International Motor Show.

The Show runs from March 30 – April 8 at BITEC Exhibition Center, Bangna, Bangkok.   As well as tempting buyers with new vehicles, DaimlerChrysler will also tempt them with a range of exclusive offers through the motor show period.

Mr. Wolfgang Huppenbauer, President & CEO DaimlerChrysler (Thailand) Limited said “This year Mercedes-Benz has created the biggest single stand ever with over 1,620sq.m of display space. The concept for this year’s stand is “Brand Quality” encompassing the Mercedes-Benz key elements of safety, driving pleasure and comfort”

The auto highlights for this year include the CL 500 Coupé, a perfect sports masterpiece.  It comes with V8 engine and 285 KW/388 HP offering maximum torque of 530 Nm. at 2,800 RPM and 0-100 in only 4 seconds.  Another highlight vehicle is the S 300 L, the ninth-generation S-Class with a V6 engine with an output of 2,997 cc delivering 161 KW/ 219 HP at 5,500 RPM.  This model is manufactured only for Thailand and is priced at 7,200,000 baht.

The third highlight vehicle is the new generation E-Class with unique PRE-SAFETM which makes the new E-Class safer than ever.  It also features a new DIRECT CONTROL package which increases responsiveness through improved steering and suspension, giving more dynamic handling in the E 200 KOMPRESSOR and E 280 3.0 Sports.

Other models are the E 220 CDI, E 230 2.5 featuring the unique Intelligent Light System which automatically adjusts headlights to driving, weather and road conditions.

And the new E 200 NGT, the newest innovation powered by the latest gasoline engine. This is the ultimate vehicle for energy savings and environmental soundness and the E 200 NGT is the most powerful natural gas vehicle in its segment.

Special at Motor Show, DaimlerChrysler will offer the E 200 NGT CBU Limited Edition with PRE-SAFE® plus KEYLESS-GO at the price only 3.7 million baht.

In the A-Class family, not only are the A 170 and A 200 presented this time but also A 1800 CDI with 4 cylinder 1,990 CC. 80KW/109 HP offering maximum torque of 250 Nm. at 1,600 - 4,200 rpm.

And in the C–Class, one of the most popular Classes, this year DaimlerChrysler has developed a C-Class to give more agility, handling and comfort by presenting C 180 KOMPRESSOR Sport Edition, C 230 2.5 and C 220 CDI.

For the niche market, DaimlerChrysler has the CLS 350 with its stunning combination of sedan coupe and elegance, plus the R-Class SUV Tourer, the R 280 CDI with V6 diesel engine 2,987 CC.

For sport roadster lovers DaimlerChrysler presents the SLK EDITION 10, specially created for the 10th anniversary of the SLK family in limited numbers.

In Commercial Vehicles, DaimlerChrysler shows the new Vito Extra Long which has a length up to 5,223 mm. giving more space and comfort plus extra options such as electric sliding door, Parktronic and Cruise Control. 

These options come in both the Vito 123 with a 3,724 CC. petrol engine giving 231 HP/5,600 RPM and priced at 2,840,000 baht and the Vito 115 CDI with a 2,148 CC. diesel engine delivering 150HP/3,800 RPM and priced at 2,600,000 baht.
