Suthikiati to meet press

Published on September 23, 2005 - Suthikiati Chirathivat, a major shareholder of Post Publishing Plc, will hold a press conference today to announce his stand on the hostile takeover bid for the company by entertainment tycoon Paiboon Damrongchaitham’s GMM Media Plc.

Suthikiati yesterday returned from Hong Kong after holding talks with South China Morning Post owner Robert Kuok over the possible financial rescue of Post Publishing in the face of the takeover bid. He would not discuss details with reporters yesterday, saying only that he would hold a press conference about it today.

Suthikiati, who holds 11 per cent of Post Publishing shares, earlier said he had secured shareholder support of 30 per cent to fight off the takeover.
