  HRH Princess Lalla Salma Bennani of Morocco
 
HRH Princess Lalla Salma Bennani, the consort of HM King Mohammed VI of Morocco, is representing him.

She was born Salma Bennani on May 10, 1978. Her father is a university professor; her mother died when she was three years old. She was appointed HRH Princess Consort Lalla Salma Bennani when she married His Majesty in 2003. The Princess is the first consort of a Moroccan ruler to have been publicly acknowledged and given a royal title. His Majesty and the Princess have one child, Crown Prince Moulay Hassan.

The Princess graduated from Ecole Nationale Superieure d'Informatique et d'Analyse des Systemes, received a degree in computer science and was her class valedictorian. After graduation, she worked as an information services engineer in the ONA Group, the country's largest private holding company, which is controlled by the Moroccan royal family.
The Princess was the representative of Morocco in Africa's First Ladies on Fighting AIDS meeting in New York in 2005. She has visited many countries including Japan and Jordan on her own. She visited Thailand in a private capacity in 2002.

The Kingdom of Morocco:Located in northern Africa, between Algeria and Western Sahara. The government is a constitutional monarchy. HM King Mohammed VI is the current ruler.

The Moroccan government hopes to improve education and job prospects for the country's youth and raise living standards by increasing tourist arrivals and boosting competitiveness in textiles, phosphate mining and processing.
Morocco and Thailand established formal relations on October 4, 1985. The relationship between the two countries continues to develop. At present Thailand imports fish, cotton, phosphates and phosphate products from Morocco and exports television sets, telecommunications equipment, shoes, textiles and auto parts.
