Thailand’s inaugural property awards launched

Published on September 05, 2006 - The Thailand Property Awards 2006 – a first for Thailand – are to be held 14 December in Bangkok. Organised by Ensign Media, publishers of the market-leading real estate publication Thailand Property Report and web portal Asia Property Report (www.property-report.com), will showcase the best in Thailand’s real estate industry.

A total of nine awards include Best Developer, Best Agent, Best Villa Development, Best Condo Development, Green Development Award, Best Architect, Best Interior Designer, Best Real Estate Website and Real Estate Personality of the Year.

A panel of independent judges will be appointed, and will include professionals in the following fields: law, tax and finance. The judges will adjudicate and select winners and runners-up in all categories except Real Estate Personality of the Year which is will be a Publisher’s Choice award.

“Thailand’s real estate industry has seen rapid grown over recent years, with markets outside of Bangkok such as Pattaya, Phuket and Samui showing exponential growth. There are also new growth areas such as Chiang Mai, Hua Hin and Krabi. In Thailand Property Report magazine we cover market trends and provide in-depth reporting on the industry, and it was a logical extension to establish the first Thailand Property Awards,” said Duncan Worthington, Managing Director of Ensign Media.

“The quality of Thailand’s real estate – construction, architectural and interior design – is world-class and the Thailand Property Awards will celebrate the best in their fields,” added Worthington.

Application for awards is now open and initial interest is very strong. “We’ve identified a clear need for the real estate industry – a professional annual award format that recognises the best in their respective fields. This is evident from the positive feedback we’ve had from developers and agents, and from the number of entries we’ve already received,” continued Worthington. “Award winners will find it a powerful marketing tool, and for consumers, it will them to make more informed decisions,” concluded Worthington.

The Awards Ceremony will be held at a leading venue in Bangkok on 14 December, and will be a gala dinner format with a ticket price. As well as celebrating the best in the industry, the night will be a unique networking opportunity for Thailand’s real estate professionals.

Worthington added, “We’ve had applications from Bangkok, Pattaya, Phuket and Samui developers and agents to date. We’re looking forward to a successful event that will grow over the years to become the annual event for the industry.”
