Caretaker Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra on Monday reiterated that she and her government will not support any separation of Thailand.

However, she called on the army to avoid double standards in probing wrongdoing by all and any groups in relation to partition matters.

“An investigation is needed if there is a real separatist movement. I welcome the army’s investment in this matter but the most important thing is to give equal justice to all parties,” she said.

The army has filed a police complaint against Petcharawat Wattanapongsirikul, a core member of the Rak Chiang Mai 51 group, alleging separatism and treason under Sections 113 and 114 of the Criminal Code.
