The caretaker Cabinet yesterday reinstated Thawil Pliensri as secretary-general of the National Security Council (NSC) in line with a ruling of the Supreme Administrative Court.

The Cabinet also moved Paradorn Pattanatabut from the NSC post to become an adviser to the prime minister.
The transfers will be sent for endorsement by the Election Commission before the prime minister seeks a royal command for the appointments, Deputy Government Spokeswoman Sunisa Lertpakawat said.
The EC’s approval was necessary because the current government is a caretaker government.
Most Pheu Thai caretaker ministers wore black yesterday while attending the weekly Cabinet meeting to protest the Constitutional Court’s ruling on the February 2 election.
The weekly meeting was held at the Royal Thai Police Cadet Academy in Nakhon Pathom’s Sampran district.
Those who wore black included caretaker Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Surapong Tovichakchaikul, Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Kittiratt Na-Ranong, and Deputy Prime Minister Plodprasop Suraswadi.
Those not in black included caretaker Deputy Prime Minister Pracha Promnog, Education Minister Chaturon Chaisang and Deputy Commerce Minister Nuttawut Saikuar.
