The people's top choice for economic minister or deputy premier overseeing economic policies under the military junta is former Finance minister Somkid Jatusripitak, according to Nida poll.
The poll was conducted on 1,251 samples between June 2526 throughout the country. The poll said 20.78 per cent of the respondents supported Somkid, followed by MR Pridiyathorn Devakula (13.19 per cent) and Supachai Panichapakdi (6.24 per cent). However 5.68 per cent felt junta chief Gen Prayuth Chanocha should to be in charge of the country’s economy. Less than one per cent believed that the finance minister should come from an election.
