Soldiers support protesters at govt office

Army Chief Pol General Prayuth Chan-ocha Wednesday deployed soldiers to keep security and provide medical assistance to protesters gathered outside the Office of the Money Laundering Commission.

First Army Region chief of staff Maj General Nattapol Srisawat inspected the site and the military operation and instructed soldiers not to interfere in the political conflict and co-ordinate with local police.
Maj General Wara Bunyasit, First Division of the King's Guard commissioner said the unit had been dispatched at the order of Army Chief General Prayuth Chan-ocha to help people and prevent incidents. He said the soldiers were told to walk in groups to prevent ill-intentioned people from assaulting them.
The military’s medical corps has also been dispatched to assist sick protesters on Chaengwatta road. The military has also tightened security at Sra Pathum Palace, putting up barbwires around the wall. Protesters were asked to open way for the royal family both for entrance and exit.
