The Internal Security Operations Command (Isoc) has assigned all governors to hold seminars in their provinces to encourage social unity.
Colonel Banphot Poonpien, spokesman of the Isoc, said yesterday that the anti-government protesters are lying low while waiting for rulings expected sooner or later from the courts and independent organisations, but government supporters might initiate and engage in activities to antagonise the other side.
Army chief General Prayuth Chan-ocha had ordered the chiefs of all Army areas to discuss with governors about stopping all activities that create rifts in society, he said.
And the result of the talks between the Army areas and governors is organising seminars to promote harmony, he said.
Deputy Army spokesman Winthai Suvari said the rulings of the court or the National Anti-Corruption Commission should not be used as political tools or as conditions that would lead to conflicts. They should be treated as part of the legal process.
