Police relieved peacekeeping role taken over by Army

Upon hearing of the martial law, crowd-control police in Bangkok were overjoyed that they could finally go home after months of trying to keep peace at protest sites.

After CAPO was disbanded, Pol General Worapong Chewprecha, deputy national police chief, ordered the 55 police companies to return to their original assignments. Many anti-riot police were also in a good mood with the prospect of reuniting with their loved ones.
