Police investigate human remains found in bus

Police investigators, led by deputy national police chief Pol Gen Aek Angsananont and national police chief adviser Pol Gen Charamporn Suramanee, yesterday inspected a bus set ablaze in front of Ramkhamhaeng University on Saturday, after remains were found inside along with a belt buckle and an iPhone.

Charamporn said he suspected a body found lying face-down near the bus door was a person who had tried to flee the bus but choked on smoke and died. Tests would be done on the skeleton to confirm that it was human and efforts made to try to establish a cause of death.

Police were gathering evidence and investigating clashes on Saturday but have had no reports filed yet of a missing person.

The team also inspected the scene of shooting at the back gate of the university, number 008. A second-year student who was shot by a 'stray' bullet in the right leg told them that bullets came from the opposite side of the university.
