Pitak Siam leader, members surrender
Pitak Siam group leader General Boonlert Kaewprasit and 10 others have surrendered to police to face charges of violating security laws while rallying on November 24.
All of them have denied the charges and have told police that they will provide a written statement in 30 days.Boonlert said he had led a peaceful demonstration, so was not worried about the charges. He added that there were some people pulling strings behind the scenes and he was being targeted.
Dr Tul Sithisomwong, one of the ten suspects said the Constitution Court had deemed the Pitak Siam rally as a peaceful one and that police had better review their charges.
Police insisted that they have a solid case and they need to take action or they might face charges of dereliction of duty.
