The Political Development Council Friday has proposed that there should be people councils in all 77 provinces as a measure for political reform.

Thirapat Serirangsan, the chairman of the Political Development Council, said the people’s councils were among four measures the PDC would propose to the National Council for Peace and Order.
Thirsapat said these people’s councils would allow citizens to discuss and exchange opinions on various issues, be they political, economic, social or cultural in nature.
He added that the PDC would also propose that the NCPO provide venues in the 77 provinces for creating true understanding among the people about the Constitutional Monarchy.
As a third measure, the PDC would propose that venues be created to promote unity and reconciliation among the people.
Finally, the PDC would propose that the NCPO launch awareness campaigns to inform citizens of their duty and responsibility to the country in politics.
