Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha on Tuesday denied that the army has purchased hacking software from a foreign company, citing it was not necessary.

He was referring to information released by WikiLeaks that the Thai Army Command Center has bought the software.

The army has no needs for these equipments, he said, adding it is not involved with the hacking. He also said that the public should not trust information from WikiLeaks, as the source has been accused in many countries for dispersing inaccurate information.

He ensured the general public that their personal information will not be tampered with if they have not committed a criminal offence.
