PDRC leaders ask DSI to delay arraignment

Suthep Thuagsuban, secretary-general of the People's Democratic Reform Committee (PDRC), and other leaders of the movement reported to the Department of Special Investigation (DSI) Tuesday and requested for the filing of their sedition charges to be delayed.

The PDRC leaders who reported to the DSI included Satit Wongnongtoey, Thaworn Senneam, Akanat Promphan, Anchalee Paireerak, Suriyasai Katasila, Chitpas Kridakorn and Taya Teepsuwan.

The DSI had summoned them to acknowledge the date they would be handed over to public prosecutors for arraignment. However, Suthep asked the DSI to delay the date for handing the case over to public prosecutors on grounds that the PDRC needed more time to find evidence.

DSI spokesman Pol Lt-Colonel Paisit Sangkhahapong said the request would be submitted to acting DSI chief Pol General Chatchawal Suksomjit for consideration.
