Myanmar understands Thai coup : Thai Foreign Ministry

Myanmar's Foreign Minister Wunna Maung Lwin on Monday expressed his understanding of situation in Thailand after the military coup, Thai Foreign Ministry statement reported Monday.

The minister, the current chair of the Asean, voiced his trust to Thai Foreign Ministry’s Permanent Secretary Sihasak Phuangketkoew that the junta would successfully implement the three-stage measures according to the time frame as plan.
Sihasak visited Myanmar on Monday to update the Asean chair on the latest development of political situation in Thailand. He told Myanmar foreign minister that Thailand would continue to play an active and important role in the region, especially with regards to Thailand’s relations with foreign countries and full participations in the international conferences and cooperation frameworks, and requested for Myanmar’s support as the current Asean Chair.
