Major General Intarat has resigned from NLA, saying he did not meet the qualifications for participation.

A former deputy leader of the now-dissolved Matchima Thippathai Party, he was banned from politics for five years after the party was dissolved on December 2, 2008.
He is the third among selected NLA candidates to resign. Thailand’s Muslim leader Chularatchamontri and the former second army region commander resigned from NLA on Monday.
Aziz Phitakkumpon, the Chularatchamontri, has officially tendered his resignation from the National Legislative Assembly. He turned down the offer, saying it conflicted with his role as spiritual leader of Islamic community in Thailand. He earlier said it was against Islam to join a political organisation.
General Thawatchai Samutsakorn on Monday resigned from the NLA, also because he felt he was disqualified from serving.
He was previously a member of the Chart Pattana Party and under current rules, members should be not been involved with a political party for the past three years. He was also a commander of the second army region.
