The Thai Foreign Ministry on Wednesday rejected a report that fugitive exPheu Thai leader Charupong Ruengsuwan had met the French foreign minister.
Ministry spokesman Sek Wannamethee said the ministry examined the report with its French counterparts, who said they knew nothing about the meeting.
“The French authorities told us that it did not have any information about the meeting and knew nothing about it,” the spokesman said.
Charupong is now secretary general of Organisation of Free Thais for Human Rights and Dignity, an anticoup movement in exile. He set up the organisation in a foreign country after defying the junta's summons and fleeing the country.
