Democracy forum at Parliament

The parliamentary chamber will be open this Saturday to allow members of the Assembly for the Defence of Democracy from provinces adjacent to Bangkok to hold a seminar titled "Opening the Parliament, Move Forward for Thailand's Reform", Pheu Thai Party key member Sunai Chulpongsatorn said yesterday.

Senate Speaker Nikom Wairatpanij has allowed the group to use the chamber as a venue for the forum, in which former Supreme Court vice president Satit Phairoh, former senator and drafter of the 1997 Constitution Panas Tassaneeyanont, and Thammasat University economist Pichit Likitkijsomboon will appear as panellists, Sunai said.

Sunai and other Pheu Thai members yesterday met with Nikom to discuss issues relating to parliamentary convention and the opening of the next Parliament after the February 2 election.
